Through a Sunshine Law asking, the News-Leader obtained the incident reports detailing the threats Springfield school police investigated at heart and high schools during the 2017-18 school yr.

Unless otherwise noted, suspects and witnesses were interviewed past school police. In certain situations, officers reviewed surveillance images and conducted searches.

Springfield Public Schools is the largest district in Missouri and has its own police, which investigates incidents on school belongings and generates hundreds of reports annually.   • Jarrett —A omnibus driver reported a student harassing and hitting people with paper, acting like he was going to dial a educatee, and threatening to shoot several students. The boy allegedly pointed at the driver and said, "He will be commencement."

JANUARY 2018

  • Pershing — A male child fabricated threats of possessing a gun and wanting to harm himself and a teacher. He said he did not like his life.
